Matt Robinson (Slade) Looks into the Past…

Look into the Past

If you could spend a day in any time period, which one would it be and why? What do you think you would learn most from the experience?

It would either be the 1960’s or the Roman times. I’m a bit of a hippy at heart and the 60’s were the centre of a cultural explosion – to live in a time where your soundtrack was Jimi Hendrix would be quite something.

However I think I would learn slightly more useful things by hanging out with the Romans. They seemed so advanced and I would love to see how their brains ticked. I could take lots of Roman baths, go to the colosseum and watch amazing fights. Not too sure about the sandals they had to wear though.

But if none of these could be arranged I would happily jet back to the 1920’s/30’s Jazz age in America and drink wine with Ernest Hemingway and F Scott Fitzgerald. They could teach me the secrets of the world, and we’d have a right old knees-up!
