Is there anyone out there?
It is cold outside and I am safe and comfortable here in my refuge in Sector 9.
I am sorry but it has not been possible for me to communicate recently. This is because of some amazing things that have been happening in Tribeworld.
Firstly, there is a new Tribe on the scene who are causing a real stir. They call themselves the “Chosen” and dress in weird outlandish clothes. I have seen them myself as they wander around the city. They follow a leader who calls himself the “Guardian”. No outsiders have seen his face due to the mask he wears but the leader is a he because some have heard him speak. He sounds passionate and determined. And quite crazy.
The “Chosen” do not seem to be a force for good – no, far from it, they claim to worship Zoot. They want “power and chaos” to rule over us all and this has alarmed the other tribes. Just who are the Chosen? What do they really want? Do they truly believe in power and chaos or is this pretending on their part? Where have they come from?
Some have tried to find the answers to these questions by following the Chosen and trying to speak to the Guardian. But they have not found any answers – and have only encountered trouble. Big trouble.
Many are wondering if the virus has finally been beaten – has an antidote been found? Or is the virus still around and there are no cures for it? Opinion is divided on this great question for our times.
The Locos and Demon Dogs have added a new element to their rivalry. Some of the Locos are trying to join forces with other tribes like the Nomads in an effort to create a powerful alliance based on trading that will have an influence in the city. The Demon Dogs have reacted to this by trying to create alliances with other tribes like Roosters and the Gulls. So far Tribe Circus have kept out of the negotiations and alliances and are continuing on their own. Does this mean a new peaceful chapter in the long rivalry between Locos and Demon Dogs? Will they now fight for power by trading against each other? We will have to see…
A new year has occurred in Tribeworld but few celebrate it. We don`t have televisions or radio here. There are no newspapers or magazines. Most people don`t even know what date it is. They don`t know it is a new year so can`t celebrate, even if they wanted to. And if they did want to celebrate, there are few foodstuffs to use to celebrate. Everything is in short supply and can`t be wasted by celebrating a new date.
But a minority of others have kept track of the days – some people keep diaries and record the dates and times. They know it is a new year and despite the meager food and drink they had to use, they celebrated by singing and dancing – whilst others reflected and remembered the past.

Finally, I can`t reveal who I am. Many of you have emailed me with questions asking me. But this is a secret and must remain so. Tribemaster is safe in its refuge in Sector 9 – for now. It does not want its identity known and spread in case Locos or Demon Dogs – or the Chosen – pay it a visit. Maybe when everything settles down Tribemaster will give some clues about itself – we will just have to see…
