Vicky Rodewyk (Gel) on Childhood

What was your first memory?

Vicky – My brother giving me a big huge hug when I was 2 years old.

What was your favourite toy as a child?

Vicky – My huge teddy bear called Freddy

Any childhood illnesses or injuries?

Vicky – Chicken pox and a bloody nose from my little brother.

 

Any scars from childhood accidents?

Vicky – No.

Favourite birthday party?

Vicky – My 11th birthday party. I don’t know if I would like it now, but when I was 11 it was the best birthday I could hope for.

Favourite birthday cake?

Vicky – A heart. I remember I would always try and draw a heart, I could never draw one properly, they would always be wonky.

Favourite holiday as a child?

Vicky – Los Angeles, America. I loved it to bits.

Favourite game as a child?

Vicky – Kiss n Catch

Do you remember your first day at school?

Vicky – Yes. I loved it. I thoguht it was so cool. I thought the teacher was annoying because she always made me eat my sandwiches, so I stole her stamps. I was naughty for a child and I regret stealing the stamps 🙂

Did you have many childhood parties?

Vicky – I think I did. I just had the biggest birthday parties because it was the only time I could eat lollies.

What did you like most about school?

Vicky – Art.

What was your favourite piece of clothing as a child?

Vicky – My flower dresses

 

Who was your first crush?

Vicky – Matthew Watson. he was my little boyfriend and best friend for about 3 years until he left to live in Australia.

 

What was your favourite subject at school?

Vicky – Art, Drama and Dance.

At what age did you learn to swim?

Vicky – When I was a few months old. I have loved the water my whole life.

Were you interested in sports?

Vicky – Not when I was really little. Only when I was about 12 years old did I start loving sports. I have done dancing since I was 2 and a half.

What did the tooth fairy leave you?

Vicky – $2.00

What was the most memorable thing that you learnt from a teacher?

Vicky – To be determined. My teacher Mr Roby got me into Cross Country running.

What was your first job?

Vicky – When I was about 4 years old I started helping my family with our flower business.

Favourite children’s tv show?

Vicky – Didn’t have one.

Favourite children’s story?

Vicky – Cinderella

Were you ever bullied?

Vicky – No.

 

What were your hobbies as a child?

Vicky – Acting, dressing up

What did you want to be when you grew up?

Vicky – An actress and a journalist

 

The craziest thing you ever did as a child?

Vicky – I went hand fishing in my fish pond. When I caught a goldfish it wouldn’t stop wriggling so I chopped off it’s tail. Unfortunately it died.

Any embarassing childhood photos?

Vicky – Yes. I tripped over the Christmas tree one year and I was lying with my legs in the air and my whole family was laughing.
