Location Report – Tribe Series 3 Week 2 production news

Tribe Series 3 is now into its third week of principal photography from Monday 17th July – but what happened last week in week 2 of the production?

You`ll find out below…

More exclusive Series 3 photos!

Okay – here is the first exclusive snapshot from Tribe 3 production. The picture was taken last week in New Zealand and as you can see shows Trudy and the Guardian. Where are they? What are they doing?

There is another exclusive photo below at the end of this Location Report…

The scenes

People in the property business say the most important thing about houses is location, location, location – and that pretty much sums up what has happened in week 2.

There has been a lot of exterior location shooting – in fact every day of week 2.

There were some parallel shooting days too when a production unit would be filming in one location and another group would film at the same time in a different location. Some of the locations have beautiful backdrops and are visually stunning…

The locations

Some of the exterior locations/scenes shot in week 2 included a grave, beautiful hills, a mountain, a radar tracking station, an observatory, some gorgeous beaches, the countryside, woods, an old college, city streets, and some secret locations that we can`t reveal (in case they give some crucial storylines away).

The furthest location was 29 kilometres from the Cloud 9 Studios.

Make a start

The earliest crew call (when the crew and cast must be ready on the location) was 07.15 am – but some crew members had to be there at 05.20 am! You`ve got to wake up early in the television business sometimes!

In the mood for food

On Monday 17th July the new cafeteria/restaurant at the Cloud 9 Studios opens – it is called “Take 9” and serves up a fantastic selection of fresh food across different styles to suit every taste bud. “Take 9” is where members of cast and crew go to snack and eat during breaks in shooting at the Cloud 9 Studios.

When location filming is on, Take 9 is still open (to feed administrative staff and production crew who stay at the studio) but the cast and crew who film at location are fed by unit caterers. So now you know!

Not on the menu

Are chickens, goats, pigs, dogs, roosters, and a white horse – just some of the animals involved in filming during week 2 with the animal wranglers.

Weather

It is still winter in New Zealand right now but getting warmer and brighter each day. Sunrise is now around 07.40 am and sunset is not until 17.15 pm.

Here`s the record of the weather in week 2 of the production:

  • Monday 10th July – Fine and sunny, slight northerly breeze, about 15C
  • Tuesday 11th July – Fine and sunny, about 14C
  • Wednesday 12th July – Cloudy at times with northerly breezes, about 12C
  • Thursday 6th July – Fine, about 14C

  • Okay here is the second photo and as you can see it`s got those “The CHosen” people in it again. Where are they this time? Only time will tell… More next week…
